Stem cell therapies: now and in the future

CSIRO and the Australian Stem Cell Centre are holding a free public lecture on stem cell research.

CSIRO and the Australian Stem Cell Centre are holding a free public lecture on stem cell research.

Come and listen to three experts and ask questions on embryonic stem cell research, adult stem cell research and therapies, and umbilical cord blood banking, uses and research.

With all the recent media and commentary on stem cells: death of a woman following stem cell treatment; possibly outrageous claims being made about plant stem cells and their use in cosmetics – to make you look younger apparently – and the speculation that some German research on Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells may not be all that it is cracked up to be.  Should make for an interesting lecture and discussion and it is happening 20 metres from my office.  Ultra-convenient.
